This egg is pale, cold, and a little bit slimy. Ew.
You aren't quite sure what this hatchling is supposed to be, but it's cold and mewls weakly - clearly needing your care - so you take it in anyway.
It's definitely a peculiar creature. Vaguely cervine, it mainly walks on its hind legs, leaving its eerily hand-like forepaws free to grasp anything that gets too close. However, most shocking is the skull it has in place of a normal head, and the ghostly glow that has begun to emanate from where its eyes should be is really starting to unnerve you as well. Although it is incapable of speech you swear you sometimes hear it whisper your name....
Never is it recommended to wander the forests of Ostlea alone at night. The forests are home to shocking array of dangerous creatures, and the wendigo is no exception. Wendigos are rarely seen but on the darkest of nights; their ghostly, glowing eyes have sent many an unfortunate traveler running for their lives. But, if the whisperings in villages bordering those dark forests are to be believed, the mere sight of a wendigo is not cause for alarm. In fact, several leading naturalists on a recent expedition to study wendigos reported that, even at close range, the fearsome beasts behaved as though oblivious to their presence. Curiously, a few members of that expedition did report hearing someone - or something - whispering their name in the night. Those members were mysteriously missing the next morning, never to be seen again.
